Vintage Dresser DIY
Restoring a dresser to highlight its vintage look and to show off it’s gorgeous hardware.
ReStored Furniture Extraordinaire, Beth, created this piece as a custom order. She restored the piece to highlight its vintage look and to show off it’s gorgeous hardware.
To distress and create a vintage look to your ReStore furniture, you will need:
- Sandpaper
- Primer
- General
Purpose Paint (Beth used Limousine Black)
- Paint
brushes or rollers
- Wax
- Furniture
Piece (Check out your local Habitat for Humanity ReStore for your vintage
furniture needs)
Directions:
- Take off all hardware to avoid accidental spills
- Sand down the entire surface to get rid of any
paint or stainer on the piece.
- Paint the entire surface of the piece with
primer, then with paint
- After the paint has completely dried, sand down
the edges to create a distressed, vintage look.
- Seal the piece and the distressed edges with wax
- Reattach the hardware and admire your finished
product!
